One of the most interesting parts of my job is being able to observe how people love. Every couple expresses love in a different way, some love quietly through subtle glances that only the other person can interpret, some love softly through gentle touches and smiles and others love boldly. Sabrina and Dustin’s love is a loud kind of love; a love that’s almost palpable and certainly infectious.
Walking into Sabrina and Dustin’s wedding day I knew it was going to be all sorts of gorgeous. Not only because of the incredible property at Alyson’s Orchard or my couple’s insanely good looks, but because when I photographed Sabrina and Dustin’s engagement session earlier this year, I observed how they loved each other loudly and without reserve. I’m always timid when I start engagement sessions because I truly don’t know how my couple will interact with each other and I don’t want to make anyone uncomfortable before things get rolling. However, there was no warming up period with these two lovebirds. I would only need to use phrases like “get snuggly” and they would suddenly be locked in a loving embrace staring into each other’s eyes. I would ask one of them to gently touch the other’s face and snap away without needing to say anything else. These types of affections were just so natural to them it made me feel truly blessed to do what I do – document love!
Dustin and Sabrina put a lot of time and effort into planning their big day. When I arrived that morning, they were both in the reception room decorating with their families and friends. People were hanging globes, arranging tables, and setting up little details and décor all over the room ranging from personalized picture frames to candles on every windowsill. They had thought of everything. Sabrina even brought in her own personal vintage couch that they used for a photo booth scene on the back deck. So much pretty!!!
The ceremony sat on top of a hill overlooking a portion of the beautiful orchard that has over 50 varieties of apples! Yum! (I’m not going to lie, it was extremely hard for me not to walk around and taste all the varieties.) The ceremony arbor had been tediously decorated with lots and lots of ribbon that danced in the breeze throughout the vows, the rope ceremony, and their first kiss as husband and wife – a truly lovely effect.
Dustin and Sabrina, every bit of your wedding day was fantastic, especially when we got driven around on a horse-drawn wagon for bride and groom photos 🙂 Thank you for giving me the time to create beautiful memories for you despite having sore feet and a headache. I truly wish you both many more years of happiness, adventure, and lots of love.
