As soon as Josh & Nicole emailed me, I knew I wanted to photograph their micro-wedding in Quechee, Vermont. Sometimes you just get a feeling about people and I remember being so bummed out when we weren’t sure if it was going to work out. Then I got an email from Josh that I literally have saved forever that said things like “when we found your page Nicole kept saying how your warmth and passion came through not only in your words but in the photos themselves” and ended up stretching their budget to hire me. It meant everything to me for a couple to value me and what I do so much that they made a compromise. To be valued for your passion is such a blessing!!
Often times in life, we become too caught up in “stuff”. Electronics, furniture, decor, the newest gadgets, clothing, cars…you name it. This is especially true when planning a wedding. It’s hard not to get caught up in the glitz and glam of a wedding, the million details that you have to think about – flowers, shoes, jewelry, invites, outfits, colors, linens, seating, music, guest lists, wedding parties, vendors, venues, timing etc. I’m not saying any of that is bad, but it’s not what really matters at the end of the day. Yes, we all love weddings full of elaborate florals and stunning details, but there are also tiny weddings that forgo all the details and solely focus on their union that are equally important.
I’ve wanted to post this micro wedding for over a year now because it’s the perfect example of two people that didn’t focus on “stuff” and only focused on what was truly important to them – love & family.
It was small, short, and intimate, but it wasn’t lacking in a single thing. The love between Josh & Nicole overflows to the people around them. They’re simply two beautiful people that are even more beautiful together. It’s hard to explain if you weren’t there, but all I’ll say is that these two are clearly cherished by their families and they clearly cherish each other.
They showed their love enthusiastically and without reserve.
They smiled equally as big into each others eyes.
They laughed when the other laughed.
They embraced as though they don’t want to let go.
And it touched my heart being a part of it.
